The Department of Health recently held a mid-year review conference to assess healthcare performance during the first six months of 2026 and outline priorities for the remainder of the year. One of the conference's key highlights was that more than one million residents had received free periodic health check-ups or health screening services, covering 62 percent of the province's population.

The program aims to provide healthcare services for all residents, to ensure that by the end of 2026, every resident will receive at least one free health check-up or screening during the year.

Meanwhile, medical examination and treatment services have been maintained across the province. The average hospital bed occupancy rate reached 117.3%. The primary healthcare network has also been strengthened, with all 92 commune- and ward-level health stations staffed by four to five doctors.

Healthcare facilities across the province provided medical examination and treatment for 870,000 patient visits. Health insurance coverage reached 95%, while communicable diseases remained well under control, with no reported deaths from infectious diseases.
