On the morning of June 11, together with more than 1.22 million candidates nationwide, over 22,700 students in Thai Nguyen Province entered the first day of the 2026 National High School Graduation Examination. This is the largest examination ever held and the first to take place amid the restructuring of administrative units and the implementation of the two-tier local government model.

According to a rapid report from the Department of Education and Training, during the registration and examination procedures on the afternoon of June 10, a total of 22,544 candidates were present at examination sites across the province, accounting for 99.1%, while 191 candidates were absent. The procedures were conducted smoothly and safely, with no unusual incidents reported. Candidates were briefed on examination regulations and schedules, and were able to review and correct their personal information if necessary.
This year's National High School Graduation Examination in Thai Nguyen is being held at 47 examination sites with 995 examination rooms. More than 4,100 officials, teachers, and staff have been mobilized to support the examination process.
In preparation for the examination, the Provincial Steering Committee for the 2026 National High School Graduation Examination directed departments, agencies, and local authorities to develop comprehensive plans to ensure security, safety, healthcare services, electricity and water supply, communications, and support for candidates. Contingency plans for extreme weather, heavy rainfall, flooding, and transportation disruptions have also been put in place to ensure that no candidate is prevented from reaching an examination site due to objective circumstances.
