Saigontel proposes cooperation on developing stem cell technology in Thai Nguyen

On June 6, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with Saigon Telecom Technology Joint Stock Company (Saigontel) and its partners on investment promotion in Thai Nguyen province. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired the meeting. 

 

At the meeting, the representative of Saigontel proposed Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee allow Saigontel and its partners from Japan to cooperate with hospitals and businesses to deploy the stem cell therapy method for several common diseases. 

Accordingly, Saigontel and its partners, stem cell experts from Japanese universities and hospitals, proposed building a stem cell culture lab with modern equipment.

Based on this lab, Saigontel's Japanese partner will send a team of doctors and experts to work, transfer technology, and train technicians on stem cell culture according to Japanese technology with the expectation that it will develop into the leading stem cell center in Vietnam, providing stem cells and stem cell products to all medical facilities in need in Vietnam. Representatives of some hospitals and businesses operating in the medical field in Thai Nguyen highly appreciated the potential and application of stem cell technology in the medical field. Currently, Thai Nguyen Central Hospital and A Thai Nguyen Hospital have also initially implemented a number of clinical trials or coordinated to deploy some related content.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh highly appreciated the cooperation proposal of Saigontel and its partners. Thai Nguyen province is ready to cooperate in developing stem cell technology. He believed that ministries and branches would soon "clear the legal barrier" for stem cell technology to develop in Vietnam in general and Thai Nguyen province in particular.
