Known as Vietnam’s “tea capital,” Thai Nguyen is emerging as a vibrant summer destination with diverse green tourism and outdoor experiences. Visitors can enjoy immersive journeys in nature that leave lasting impressions.
Recently, at Vo Nguyen Giap Square, Thai Nguyen Province officially opened its Tourism Season 2026 under the theme “Lakes on the Mountains – Tea in the Clouds.”
With advantages such as diverse natural landscapes, a distinctive cultural identity, and a wide range of attractive experiential tourism products, Thai Nguyen is gradually strengthening its appeal to visitors from other provinces and international tourists. However, in recent years, tourist arrivals have not yet matched the province’s full potential and existing strengths. In response, Thai Nguyen is implementing comprehensive solutions to expand its tourism market and attract more visitors for sightseeing and experiences.
On May 5 and 6, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Center for Tourism Promotion and Exploitation organised the Thai Nguyen Famtrip - Presstrip programme under the theme “Tourism Paradise of Lake on the Mountain”.
Recently, Vo Nhai Commune held the opening ceremony of its first tourism season in 2026 under the theme: “Vo Nhai – Where Culture and Nature Converge.”
Developing resort and eco-tourism associated with tea culture is considered a key direction for the Thai Nguyen tourism sector in the coming period. However, to achieve this goal, the province still needs to take steady and effective steps.
Located at the center of the Northern midlands and mountainous region, Thai Nguyen is not only known as the country’s “tea capital,” but also boasts a rich and diverse tourism resource system, ranging from natural landscapes to profound cultural and historical values.
In 2025, the total number of tourists visiting Thai Nguyen exceeded 7.3 million, driving a 16.5% increase in accommodation, catering, and tourism services.
