Sharing experience in post-disaster school recovery project

On July 24 and 25, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Red Cross Society held a review meeting in Phu Dinh Commune to evaluate the outcomes of the International Aid Project for School Recovery Following Typhoon Yagi and Its Aftermath.

The project was implemented in two phases in 2026 across six northern mountainous provinces: Cao Bang, Hoa Binh, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, and Thai Nguyen.

Through the project, more than 18,000 students, teachers, and parents directly benefited from school-based support activities, training sessions, and communication programs. The project was funded with nearly VND 15 billion in non-refundable aid provided by foreign organizations and individuals.

During the meeting, participants shared practical experience gained from implementing the project, highlighted effective models and best practices, discussed challenges encountered, and proposed solutions to improve disaster relief and post-disaster recovery efforts.

Earlier, the delegates offered incense and reported their achievements in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the memorial house in the ATK Special National Historical Site in Phu Dinh Commune.

They also handed over additional support facilities worth nearly VND 340 million to Phu Dinh Primary School and Phu Dinh Secondary School, donated a clean water system worth VND 190 million to Phu Tien Secondary School.
