With a total budget of nearly VND 10 billion implemented across eight communes and wards, the project provided unconditional cash assistance to more than 1,000 households affected by natural disasters, along with support for hundreds of disadvantaged women and people with disabilities.
A highlight of the project was the mobilization of residents to directly participate in repairing 81 small-scale transport and irrigation facilities. This not only helped restore essential infrastructure after disasters, but also created jobs and income for local people.
In addition, the project handed over more than 1,600 water storage containers and 38 clean water filtration tanks, contributing to improved living conditions and helping disaster-affected communities stabilize their lives more quickly.
At the conference, representatives of Oxfam highly appreciated the province’s implementation results and expressed hope that this sustainable recovery model would continue to be expanded in the coming period.
The provincial Red Cross Society proposed that the project continue supporting sustainable recovery programs, while providing investment and assistance to households that have recovered effectively in order to develop pilot models and sustainable post-disaster poverty reduction models.
