As the peak of the 2026 hot season begins, demand for water for daily use and production activities across Thai Nguyen Province has risen sharply. In response to this pressure, water supply units have proactively implemented various measures to ensure a safe and uninterrupted supply of clean water for residents and businesses.

The Yen Binh Water Plant is set to have its water supply capacity upgraded.

In the first four months of 2026, Thai Nguyen Clean Water Joint Stock Company recorded nearly six million cubic meters of commercial water output, up more than 6% compared to the same period last year.

Revenue from tap water reached VND 76.5 billion, while the number of clean water users continued to increase, now exceeding 87,000 households.

To meet rising summer demand, the company has proactively reviewed and maintained the entire water supply system, strengthened source water quality control, and prepared backup water supply plans.

Mr. Tran Tien Soan, Head of the Business Department of Thai Nguyen Clean Water JSC, said: “We prepared water supply plan for the hot season very early, inspected and maintained the entire water supply system, and strengthened control over both input and output water quality. Our goal is to ensure water supply and minimize the risk of shortages during prolonged heat waves.”

Not only in urban areas, but water supply operations in rural areas have also received close attention. Currently, 34 centralized water supply facilities are serving more than 35,000 customers in 25 communes and wards across the province.

With many facilities located in remote areas, maintaining stable operations and ensuring infrastructure safety during storms and heatwaves remains a key task.

Mr. Nguyen Van Truong, Director of the Thai Nguyen Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Center, shared: “We regularly inspect and maintain equipment, prepare backup supplies and water treatment chemicals, and develop disaster prevention plans to ensure the safety of the facilities and maintain a stable water supply for rural residents”.

Hot weather has also led to increased demand for bottled drinking water and ice. Businesses in the province have invested in expanding capacity and tightening food safety and hygiene control procedures.

Mr. Pham Van Nhuoc, Director of Ngoc Anh Company, said: “We have invested in facilities and equipment and installed additional water filtration systems to meet market demand”.

Alongside residential demand, the need for clean water for industrial production is also rising rapidly. With the province accelerating investment attraction and infrastructure construction for numerous industrial parks and clusters covering thousands of hectares, future water demand is expected to be substantial.

In response, Yen Binh Development Investment Joint Stock Company is preparing to deploy a second water supply pipeline, approximately 30 kilometers long, from the Yen Binh Water Plant in Dai Phuc Commune to communes and wards in the former Pho Yen and Phu Binh areas. At the same time, the company plans to build additional modules to increase the plant’s water supply capacity.

The proactive upgrading of infrastructure, expansion of capacity and strengthening of quality control measures are helping Thai Nguyen prepare to meet clean water demand during the hot season, contributing to stable living conditions, sustained production and socio-economic development across the province.
