The project has a total investment of more than VND 685 billion and includes several components. Many of these components have completed the appraisal of technical designs and cost estimates, while several bidding packages are expected to begin construction in July 2026.

At the meeting, delegates focused discussions on implementation progress, disbursement, site clearance, and proposed adjustments to several project components. Representatives of AFD Vietnam highly appreciated the province’s proactive approach in implementing the project, while emphasizing the need to ensure timely disbursement and synchronized hydrological management solutions to reduce flood risks in downstream areas.

Vice Chairman Nong Quang Nhat affirmed that Thai Nguyen Province would direct relevant departments, sectors, localities, and the project management board to accelerate implementation and ensure all timelines committed to the sponsor, especially the first disbursement milestone scheduled for June 2026.
