State Treasury of Thai Nguyen province and Thai Nguyen city lead DDCI rankings in 2022

Recently, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has organized a conference to evaluate the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and announce the Department and District Competitiveness Index (DDCI) results in 2022.

The province's leaders congratulated departments, agencies, and district People's Committees for being ranked as having good management quality, with rankings of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

The conference was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, the Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Alternate Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial PCI Steering Committee; Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, departments, and agencies, leaders of districts, cities; and representatives of business associations and enterprises in the province.

The report presented at the conference showed that Thai Nguyen's PCI in 2022 ranked 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide (an increase compared to 2021). The results of the PCI survey in 2022 recorded positive improvements in some component indices such as market entry, access to land and land use stability, and transparency...

As for the DDCI, this is the second year Thai Nguyen has surveyed to assess the business community's satisfaction with 32 units (including 9 districts, cities, and 23 departments and agencies). On a scale of 100, all units achieved scores above 80, belonging to the group of good management capacity.

The State Treasury continues to lead the DDCI index among departments and agencies, scoring 89.22; the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has the lowest score, 83.87.

Regarding the district level, Thai Nguyen city has the highest score, 87.36; Dong Hy district has the lowest score, 84.18.

 

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the results of the PCI and DDCI in 2022 reflect the determination in leadership, direction, and management of the province.

To continuously improve PCI and DDCI indexes, we need effort and immediate changes in mindset and concrete actions. Mr. Trinh Viet Hung emphasized that leaders of Party Committees and authorities at all levels must have a committed and enlightened spirit and grasp the regulations of the Party, state laws, and working regulations of their agencies and units to ensure smooth leadership and direction at all levels.

Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh affirmed that after 18 years of implementing PCI, Thai Nguyen is one of the localities with the most noticeable progress. This progress has contributed to the significant achievements of Thai Nguyen in economic development, such as becoming one of the largest industrial production centers in the country; ranking at the forefront in terms of export turnover, industrial production value, and budget revenue...

On this occasion, representatives of VCCI introduced and analyzed the Provincial Governance Index (PGI) of Thai Nguyen in 2022. This index gathers the perception of businesses and conveys the business community's voice regarding the quality of the governance environment to authorities at all levels. In 2022 - the first year this index was announced, Thai Nguyen ranked 11th out of 63 provinces and cities.

At the conference, representatives of the Provincial Business Association suggested some solutions to improve the PCI index in 2023 and the following years."
