The province currently has 19 tourist sites officially recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, meeting requirements for natural landscapes, infrastructure, tourism services, and transport connectivity. Community-based tourism continues to receive strong support. Alongside tourism development, efforts to preserve and promote traditional cultural values have been intensified.
Various programs have been implemented to collect, research, preserve, and restore traditional folk music and dance forms that have been inscribed on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Digital transformation has also been promoted in community tourism.
However, many tourist destinations have yet to fully realize their potential. Tourism activities remain highly seasonal, with visitor numbers peaking during the summer and major holidays. The market is still dominated by domestic travelers, while international arrivals and the high-end tourism segment remain limited.
The Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council recommended that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continue implementing comprehensive measures to support community tourism development, develop appropriate planning, improve transport connectivity, diversify tourism products linked to the province's tea culture and OCOP products, and further accelerate digital transformation at tourist destinations.
