The project has a total investment of nearly VND 289 billion, funded by the Government of the Republic of Korea through KOICA Vietnam, along with counterpart funding from the province. It will be implemented during the 2025–2029 period. The project aims to increase income and improve livelihoods for local people by developing agricultural value chains.

In Thai Nguyen, the project will focus on supporting three key products: turmeric, arrowroot, and winter melon, in two wards and 12 communes in the northern region. It will also link agricultural development with ecotourism and experiential tourism.

The project consists of several components, including value chain development, capacity building for production and infrastructure, modernization of processing, and expansion of consumer markets.

At the workshop, participants listened to presentations by representatives from the Ministry of Finance, KOICA Vietnam, and the project management consultancy on the project content and implementation plan, and held discussions on coordination mechanisms.

On this occasion, KOICA Vietnam Office and the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee exchanged a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of the Project Coordination Board. Relevant stakeholders also signed agreements on coordination mechanisms for project implementation among the project management consultancy, the project management board, the provincial Women’s Union, and the provincial Cooperative Alliance.
