On June 17, Mr. Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to review the implementation progress of the Program on Investment Support, Improvement and Upgrading of Transport Infrastructure in Difficult and Extremely Difficult Communes of Thai Nguyen Province for the 2026–2030 period.

| Overview of the meeting. |
The program is being implemented in 34 difficult and extremely difficult communes across the province, where rugged terrain, narrow and deteriorating roads continue to hinder travel and trade.
Under the program’s mechanism, the State provides funding for construction costs and part of the cement supply, while residents contribute roadbeds, site clearance and other available resources. To date, most projects are in the preparatory stage, including the formulation and submission of investment proposals and route surveys.
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman urged communes to proactively expedite investment procedures while strengthening public outreach efforts to gain residents’ support, including land donations for road expansion. This will help gradually improve transport infrastructure to better serve production activities and daily life.
The timely resolution of issues related to administrative procedures, funding and construction materials will be crucial to accelerating road construction projects in disadvantaged communes and further improving local transport infrastructure for socio-economic development.
