Strengthening cooperative relations between Thai Nguyen and Houaphanh (Laos)

Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Trinh Xuan Truong had a working session with a delegation from Houaphanh Province (Lao People’s Democratic Republic).

As one of the Vietnam’s major education and training centers, Thai Nguyen Province has, over the years, trained many generations of Lao students. Notably, in 2025, Thai Nguyen Province and Houaphanh Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, marking a new stage in the friendly relations between the two localities. In recent years, the two provinces have regularly maintained exchanges and shared experience in areas such as Party building and socio-economic development.

Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Trinh Xuan Truong expressed his hope that in the coming time, the two sides would continue to strengthen comprehensive cooperation, especially in the fields of investment, tourism, and trade, thereby contributing to the preservation of cultural identity and further consolidating and deepening the close and sustainable relationship between the two provinces.

On behalf of the Houaphanh delegation, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council congratulated Thai Nguyen on the achievements it has attained, and expressed the hope that Thai Nguyen would continue to pay attention to and support Houaphanh Province in particular and Laos in general in human resource training and in expanding cooperation in other fields.
