“Vietnamese MSMEs Breakthrough with AI” project launched

On August 12, Thai Nguyen University of Information and Communication Technology and Kenan Foundation Asia launched the “Vietnamese MSMEs Breakthrough with AI” project in Thai Nguyen.

The launch marked the beginning of a series of training and support activities to help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) apply AI in production and business operations under the AIM ASEAN program. In Vietnam, the project aims to support 18,700 businesses in developing AI skills for management, marketing, sales, e-commerce, finance and operations, thereby improving productivity, reducing costs and enhancing competitiveness.

Thai Nguyen is the first locality to implement the project, opening up new opportunities for local businesses to access emerging technologies and strengthening connections among government agencies, universities, businesses and international organizations.

At the launch ceremony, Thai Nguyen University of Information and Communication Technology and Kenan Foundation Asia signed a memorandum of understanding on training, knowledge transfer and capacity building for AI applications. Immediately after the ceremony, 250 businesses, cooperatives and household businesses took part in a hands-on AI training session.
