Thai Nguyen Province delegation visits and works in the Lao PDR

To mark the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 46th anniversary of the Vietnam–Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, from 18 November, a delegation from Thai Nguyen Province, led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, began its working visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. On the first day of the visit, the delegation held a working session with the authorities of Luang Prabang Province.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed his gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception from Luang Prabang Province, and affirmed that this visit is an important opportunity for the two provinces to continue strengthening the special traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Thai Nguyen and Luang Prabang in particular.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the implementation results of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two provinces, as well as cooperation orientations and priorities for the coming period. They also exchanged views on cooperation in education and training for students from Luang Prabang; tourism collaboration between the two localities; and support for enterprises from Thai Nguyen wishing to survey and invest in Laos in areas such as infrastructure development, mineral exploitation, logistics and tourism, and services that help connect and promote the consumption of Thai Nguyen’s specialty products and OCOP products in the Lao market.
