Currently, Thai Nguyen has more than 22,000 hectares of tea plantations. Tea is considered the province’s key crop, providing livelihoods for tens of thousands of households. In recent years, the province has introduced some mechanisms and policies to promote the development of the tea industry, including Resolution No. 11 issued by the Provincial Party Committee on tea industry development for the 2025–2030 period.

Alongside the achievements, delegates also pointed out several challenges, including the lack of synchronized development of concentrated tea-growing areas, inconsistent product quality, and limitations in product traceability. Counterfeit and imitation Thai Nguyen tea products have also affected the reputation of the brand.

One of the key topics discussed at the seminar was digital transformation in the tea industry, aimed at increasing added value and expanding both domestic and export markets.

Participants also proposed support in terms of capital, science and technology, raw material area development, and brand protection.

In addition, they emphasized the need to strengthen linkages among enterprises, cooperatives, and tea growers, while promoting tea development associated with tourism in order to build a sustainable value chain for the Thai Nguyen tea industry.
