124,000 households receive policy credit loans

As of April, Thai Nguyen Province has nearly 3,900 savings and loan groups, with 124,000 households still having outstanding loans at the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies – Thai Nguyen Provincial Branch.

Total outstanding loans entrusted through mass organisations exceeded 9.4 trillion VND, accounting for 98.8% of the bank’s total outstanding loan balance. Among them, the Vietnam Women’s Union managed the largest number, with 1,152 groups and an outstanding loan balance of more than VND 3 trillion. The lowest was the Youth Union, with 775 groups and an outstanding balance of nearly VND 2 trillion.

Currently, overdue debts and rescheduled loans total more than VND 10.3 billion, representing 0.105% of the total entrusted outstanding loans.

In the coming period, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies will continue to closely coordinate with local authorities at the commune level to review and identify loan demands under programmes for poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poor households, and other credit programmes.
