At the launch ceremony on July 29, provincial officials highlighted that during the first six months of the year, nearly 115,000 older residents received health check-ups and ongoing health management. Programs celebrating longevity, along with cultural, sports and community activities, have also continued to expand across the province.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said caring for older persons is not only a social welfare responsibility but also a way of honoring those who have devoted their lives to the country's development.
He called on local authorities and relevant agencies to improve primary healthcare services for older people, expand the use of electronic health records, and promote integrated care models that combine healthcare, social welfare, family support and community services.
Following the ceremony, the Provincial Association of Older Persons, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, held the 2026 Thai Nguyen Folk Singing Festival for Older Persons. The event brought together 15 performance groups presenting 48 traditional folk songs and folk dance performances, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam's ethnic communities.
