Nui Coc Lake, the “green heart” of Thai Nguyen’s tourism industry, is emerging as a key highlight in the province’s tourism development strategy. Its appeal was further demonstrated during Thai Nguyen Tourism Week 2026, which attracted large numbers of visitors eager to experience the area's unique ecological environment.
Ms. Le Thi Hong Phuong, Deputy General Director of Nui Coc Lake Trade Union Hotel and Tourism JSC, shared: "To improve service quality, the tourist area has conducted comprehensive inspections and reviews of its facilities, repaired damaged infrastructure, and introduced new tourism products, services, and recreational facilities to enhance visitors’ experiences."
Beyond maximizing its existing advantages, Thai Nguyen is expanding its development space through a series of major projects that have recently broken ground. Notable among them are the High-Tech Tea Production and Processing Plant and Organic Tea Material Area Project, as well as the Quan Chu Cultural, Sports, and Golf Complex Project.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Vinh, Chairwoman of the Board and CEO of Quan Chu Tea JSC, stressed: "We aspire to build the Quan Chu Thai Nguyen Tea brand into one that embodies cultural values, promotes local identity, and fully applies advanced science, technology, and innovation to green agriculture."

Alongside investment attraction efforts, Thai Nguyen is steadily shaping a tourism development strategy that is green, professional, and deeply rooted in local identity. The province is focusing on four key tourism product lines: agricultural tourism associated with tea culture, cultural and historical tourism, MICE tourism, and adventure and experiential tourism. During the 2026–2030 period alone, the province plans to allocate more than VND 551 billion for tourism development.
Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam, Head of the Tourism Management Division, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen, said: "We have guided tourism destinations and sites to incorporate intangible cultural heritage into visitor experiences, enabling tourists to enjoy and immerse themselves in the local cultural identity during their stay."

In addition to attracting business investment, Thai Nguyen is increasingly empowering local communities to play a greater role in green tourism development. Many localities are being planned around ecological agriculture combined with experiential tourism, opening up new opportunities for rural economic development and community-based tourism.
Mr. Dong Duc Phuong, Vice Chairman of Tan Cuong Commune, noted: "We are currently adjusting our development plans and focusing on practical measures such as expanding transportation infrastructure to attract investment and transform this area into a provincial center for eco-tourism and resort development."
With a clear vision and systematic approach, Thai Nguyen is steadily positioning tourism as a key economic sector, aiming to welcome approximately 12 million visitors by 2030. Drawing on the green landscapes of tea hills, lakes, and distinctive ecological spaces, the province is paving the way toward realizing its ambition of becoming the “Green Tourism Capital” of Vietnam’s Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region.
