According to the report, during the first four months of 2026, digital transformation efforts continued to achieve positive results. Thai Nguyen currently ranks 4th out of 34 localities in the index measuring services provided to citizens and businesses in administrative procedures and public service delivery. The province now has 49 databases, with 29 APIs connected, and approximately 79% of the population covered by 5G.

In the field of science and technology, the Department of Science and Technology is currently managing 128 provincial- and national-level science and technology tasks, and has completed the selection of 35 tasks to be implemented from 2026. At the same time, it has proposed that the Ministry of Science and Technology commission three science, technology, and innovation tasks applying AI, blockchain, and IoT to support the development of Thai Nguyen tea, smart school health care, and industrial production.

At the meeting, the Department of Science and Technology proposed that the Provincial People’s Committee pay attention to improving the mechanism for commissioning science and technology tasks; supplementing high-quality human resources in information technology and digital transformation; and investing in the development of a provincial-level Innovation Center and digital infrastructure.

In his concluding remarks, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Department of Science and Technology in advising on the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution 57. He stressed that the Department must clearly demonstrate a spirit of innovation and bold thinking and action; it must not stop at merely compiling proposals from departments, agencies and localities, but must proactively identify issues, propose breakthrough solutions, and closely coordinate with Thai Nguyen University and technology enterprises to create new momentum for the province’s development.
