During inspections of the Khuoi Thoc Hydropower Plant in Phong Quang Commune and An Khanh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, he praised the efforts of the two facilities and asked them to further optimize their capacity and ensure safe operations, contributing to the local power grid.
With a capacity of 100 MW, An Khanh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company has maintained stable power generation under the national power dispatch system since 2015. Meanwhile, the Khuoi Thoc Hydropower Plant delivered positive results in the first six months of 2026, generating 4.415 million kWh of electricity and earning VND 8.3 billion in revenue.
To achieve energy self-sufficiency, the provincial chairman reaffirmed Thai Nguyen’s commitment to the policy of “putting power development one step ahead” and accelerating plans to propose adding 1,300 MW of power capacity to the National Energy Master Plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
This is seen as a key foundation for the province to secure its energy supply, ensure social welfare for ethnic minority communities in mountainous areas, and create momentum for breakthroughs in its economic growth centers.
