Recently, Thai Nguyen Province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to construct the new Gia Bay Bridge, a key and urgent transport project aimed at remedying the consequences of disasters, enhancing the flood drainage capacity of the Cau River, and completing the central urban infrastructure of Thai Nguyen Province. The project was launched on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam's founding.

The project is classified as a Group B project and a Grade I transport work, with a total investment of more than VND 617 billion from the local budget and other funding sources.
The new bridge will be over 180 meters long and 23.5 meters wide, featuring a modern cable-stayed design; the approach road system will be invested in in a synchronized manner.
The project owner is the Provincial Project Management Board for Transport and Agriculture Construction Investment; the contractor is Truong Son Construction Corporation, Corps 12 under the Ministry of National Defense.
Speaking at the ceremony, provincial leaders emphasized that the project demonstrates strong political determination in implementing multi-purpose projects that both promote socio-economic development and proactively prevent and mitigate natural disasters.
They also requested that relevant units organize construction scientifically, strictly comply with technical standards, ensure aesthetic quality, and strive to complete the project before December 31, 2026.
