Thai Nguyen prepares for countdown program to welcome 2026

On the afternoon of December 22, Mr. Bui Van Luong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a meeting to discuss organizational arrangements for the Countdown Program to welcome the New Year 2026.

The Countdown Program to welcome the New Year 2026 will be a comprehensive cultural and artistic event at the provincial level, held outdoors and combined with a high-altitude fireworks display. The program is scheduled to take place from 8:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025, to 12:30 a.m. on January 1, 2026, with the proposed venue at Vo Nguyen Giap Square.

In his directive remarks at the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee emphasized that the organization of the program must be solemn, practical, and effective, while ensuring absolute safety in terms of political security, social order and safety, and fire prevention and control.

The program content should be rich, engaging, and modern, aligned with the atmosphere of welcoming the New Year and the nation’s traditional Lunar New Year, and consistent with customs and national cultural identity. In addition, the organization of the event must be economical and compliant with regulations, while promoting socialization and mobilizing lawful resources to enhance the quality and outreach of the event.

He assigned relevant departments, sectors, and units to absorb the opinions raised at the meeting, continue reviewing and finalizing the organizational plan, clearly assign responsibilities, and proactively coordinate closely to ensure the successful organization of the Countdown Program to welcome the New Year 2026, creating a distinctive cultural highlight and contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people.
