Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Secretary works with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea

On the afternoon of 18 November, at the headquarters of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Hanoi, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, held a working session with Mr. Choi Young Sam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam, along with representatives of several agencies, Samsung Vietnam, and Korean businesses, to discuss investment cooperation and measures to support Korean enterprises in expanding their operations in Thai Nguyen.

At the meeting, Ambassador Choi Young Sam offered his congratulations to Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong on being entrusted by the Party Central Committee with the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee. He also conveyed the Embassy’s heartfelt sympathy to the people of Thai Nguyen, who had recently suffered damage caused by Typhoon 11.

Ambassador Choi Young Sam affirmed that the Korean Government and its business community attach great importance to cooperation with Vietnam, reflected in the presence of major corporations such as Samsung Electronics and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, along with hundreds of supporting enterprises operating effectively in Thai Nguyen. He also noted that many Korean businesses continue to express interest in exploring new investment opportunities in the province. However, they requested further attention from the province to workforce training and supply, as well as increased investment in housing for workers coming from other localities.

The two sides agreed that in the new phase, cooperation should be strengthened substantively and effectively, focusing on high-tech industries, smart urban development, renewable energy, and high-quality human resource training.
