Safety has always been the cornerstone of sustainable development at Nui Phao Mining Company Limited. Over the years, the company has continuously prioritized the organization of firefighting and rescue (FFR) drills at its plant, while working closely with local authorities to deliver fire prevention and firefighting (FPF) training programs — spreading essential safety skills and awareness to the wider community.

Internal Drill: Steadfast in Every Emergency Situation

Most recently, on October 29, 2025, Nui Phao cooperated with the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Division (Thai Nguyen Police Department) to conduct a comprehensive firefighting and rescue exercise at the Nui Phao Mine Office.

According to the simulation scenario, at around 2:00 PM, an electrical short circuit caused a fire in the warehouse storing materials and documents near the Office area. The fire spread rapidly, producing thick smoke and threatening nearby zones. The automatic fire alarm system was triggered, and all employees promptly stopped work and evacuated under the guidance of the designated safety personnel.

Nui Phao’s in-house Firefighting and Rescue Team immediately deployed fire engines, rescue vehicles, and medical units to the scene. The team was divided into two units — one focused on firefighting and the other on rescue — working in close coordination to contain the blaze and safely evacuate victims.

As the fire showed signs of expansion, the on-site commander requested reinforcement from the professional firefighting force. The Thai Nguyen Provincial Fire Police promptly arrived with three specialized fire trucks, deploying response teams in two directions: one for rescue, the other for extinguishing the fire. After more than 30 minutes of coordinated effort, the fire was completely contained, ensuring the safety of both people and property.

Commenting on the drill, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Xuan Binh – Deputy Commander of Firefighting Team No. 5 – noted:

“The drill was well-organized and executed with seriousness and professionalism. All participating teams demonstrated readiness and strong safety awareness — a clear testament to the company’s proactive and responsible safety culture.”

Joining Hands with the Community to Build Safe Schools

Beyond internal operations, Nui Phao has also extended its safety initiatives to the local community. On October 27, 2025, the company collaborated with the PC07 Fire Police Division of Thai Nguyen Province, An Khanh Commune Police, local militia, and healthcare units to organize a firefighting and rescue drill at Cu Van Kindergarten (An Khanh Commune).

The exercise helped teachers enhance their emergency response skills and build early safety awareness among children from a young age. At the same time, Nui Phao donated 31 fire extinguishers to Ha Thuong Kindergarten (An Khanh Commune), contributing to better firefighting preparedness and strengthening the school’s ability to proactively ensure safety.

These meaningful initiatives reflect Nui Phao’s strong commitment to partnering with local authorities to create a responsible, safe, and friendly learning environment.

Nui Phao’s Firefighting and Rescue Team now includes 131 professionally trained members, fully equipped with modern tools and always on standby 24/7.

Since 2022, the team has also supported the local community in responding to 15 fire and rescue incidents of various scales — helping ensure safety in surrounding areas and reinforcing public trust in the company.

With a spirit of proactiveness, professionalism, and responsibility, Nui Phao Mining continues to foster a strong safety culture — protecting people, safeguarding the environment, and laying a solid foundation for long-term sustainable development.
