On the morning of June 7, in Thai Nguyen City, the Ministry of Public Security, in collaboration with Thai Nguyen Province, organized the second round of the 2024 national firefighting and rescue skills competition "Fire Prevention and Safety Joint Family Groups" in Area 1.

The competition featured the top 14 teams from 14 provinces in the northern midlands and mountainous regions.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the 14 teams participated in theoretical and practical competitions. In the theoretical portion, teams drew lots to answer questions on firefighting and rescue knowledge, with each team given 15 seconds to prepare and 60 seconds to answer, scoring on a 10-point scale.

In the practical portion, team members performed firefighting, rescue operations, and asset relocation in adjacent residential buildings combined with production and business activities.

With thorough preparation and a spirit of solidarity and responsibility, the teams completed all parts of the competition safely and effectively, showcasing their firefighting and incident response capabilities.

With first-place finishes in both the theoretical and practical portions, the Thai Nguyen team was awarded the overall first prize. The second prize went to the Cao Bang team, and the third prize to the Son La team. These three teams will represent Area 1 in the national competition in Hai Phong City this July.
On this occasion, the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to three collectives and one individual for their outstanding contributions to the competition.
