On June 24, Mr. Duong Van Luong, Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to review the progress of wind power projects in the province.

| Overview of the meeting. |
The province currently has seven wind power projects with a total capacity of 766 MW. Investors reported that they have completed wind resource surveys and measurements and are ready to proceed with project implementation immediately after investment policy approval is granted. However, the major challenge at present lies in converting land use purposes to energy land. In addition, most planned wind power sites are located in forested mountainous areas, while several projects are still in the survey and potential assessment phase, making it difficult to determine precise boundaries for adjustments to forestry planning. Some newly issued regulations related to energy development and land use also lack specific implementation guidelines, creating difficulties in investor selection.
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested that projects that have not yet conducted wind measurement must complete equipment installation by July 2026. Projects with sufficient survey data must urgently finalize investment proposal dossiers and submit them to competent authorities for appraisal in the third quarter of 2026. Projects lacking sufficient survey data must complete potential assessments and prepare investment proposal dossiers no later than the first quarter of 2027.
