According to the Department of Construction, the province currently has 13 social housing projects approved in principle, totaling around 12,500 units. It is expected that in April this year, four projects will be launched simultaneously. In addition, the province is promoting 28 projects that have not yet received in-principle approval, with a total expected scale of more than 49,000 units.
Regarding implementation progress, in 2025, the province completed 1,154 social housing units, exceeding the assigned target. In 2026, it is expected to complete an additional 5,660 units. From 2027 to 2030, the province will need to complete around 13,300 units each year to ensure the planned schedule.
At the conference, departments, agencies, and localities pointed out difficulties in developing social housing, particularly limited land availability, obstacles in site clearance, and prolonged investor selection procedures.
In his concluding remarks, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee stressed that social housing development is a highly important task, requiring the entire political system to take action. He called for stronger efforts to attract and select capable investors, accelerate administrative procedure reforms, strengthen coordination in site clearance, and promptly address difficulties and obstacles. He also confirmed that four projects will break ground on April 30, and preparations will continue for the groundbreaking of six additional projects on May 19. In 2026, all 13 projects that have already received in-principle approval will be launched.
