Thai Nguyen: Thoroughly preparing for the first sessions of People’s Councils at all levels

On the morning of March 18, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Election Steering Committee of Thai Nguyen Province, chaired a conference to report on the election results and implement several related tasks.

According to a report by the Provincial Election Committee, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term in the province was conducted in accordance with legal procedures, with voters demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility. Difficulties and issues arising during the preparation phase were promptly addressed by the standing body of the Provincial Election Committee through guidance or by seeking opinions from competent authorities for unified implementation. As of 9:00 p.m. on March 15, 2026, 99.97% of voters had cast their ballots.

In his directive remarks at the conference, Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong requested the Department of Home Affairs to advise on the earliest possible announcement of the election results for provincial- and commune-level People’s Council deputies in line with the set schedule. The Commission for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilization was tasked with directing localities and media agencies to intensify communication on the success of the election. Regarding the conference to review the election, the Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and relevant agencies to thoroughly prepare content and organizational work, to be conducted online and connected to 92 communes and wards across the province. He also noted that the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council should prepare for the organization of its first session, expected to take place on the morning of March 30.
