Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a conference to review and announce the preliminary results of the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census in Thai Nguyen Province.

The census was conducted in 92 communes and wards across the province.
According to the results, as of July 1, 2025, the province had 77 communes with 2,351 villages. Compared with the period before the administrative unit reorganization, the number of communes decreased while the number of villages increased; the average area per commune is 102 square kilometers, 2.84 times higher than before the reorganization.
The province has achieved 100% coverage of the national power grid at the commune level and over 99% at the village level. Rural transportation infrastructure has been gradually upgraded.
All communes have kindergartens and primary schools; 97.4% of communes have secondary schools; and 100% of communes have health stations meeting national standards.
Regarding the rural economy, as of July 1, 2025, more than 65% of households are engaged in agricultural, forestry, and fishery production, while the remainder are engaged in non-agricultural activities. The proportion of labor in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries has decreased to 63%. The province has 868 farms, up 8.5% compared to 2016, with an average production value of VND 4.05 billion per farm per year.
Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Loan emphasized that the results of the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census are baseline data of particularly important significance, serving as a foundation for the formulation of socio-economic development plans and master plans for the province in the new period.
