The delegation first inspected the Thai Nguyen City Drainage and Wastewater Treatment System Project, funded by Official Development Assistance (ODA) from the French Republic. It then inspected the Drainage and Wastewater Treatment System Project for the southern central area of Thai Nguyen City, funded by ODA from the Kingdom of Belgium. The project includes a stormwater drainage system and a wastewater collection and treatment system.

The investor’s representative reported on the overall implementation and operation of the projects, identified existing shortcomings, difficulties, and obstacles, and proposed some recommendations to address challenges related to acceptance, operation, and completion of legal documentation.

Based on the investor’s report and explanations from relevant departments and agencies, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee emphasized the need to urgently complete the dossier for an environmental permit as a basis for organizing acceptance and putting the projects into synchronized and effective operation. He assigned the Department of Construction to take the lead, in coordination with relevant units, in advising on the handling of matters within its management scope, with a long-term approach to ensure that wastewater treatment is integrated with the flood prevention system in the provincial central area, meeting the requirements of sustainable urban development.
