Expanding cooperation with the University of Southampton

Recently, leaders of the Thai Nguyen Department of Finance held a working session with a delegation from the University of Southampton, the United Kingdom.

At the meeting, representatives of the University of Southampton introduced a research project on women entrepreneurs in South Asia and Southeast Asia. The project is funded by the UK Government’s International Science Partnerships Fund and the British Academy to provide in-depth insights into women’s entrepreneurial activities in relation to cultural, geographical, and socio-economic factors. The project seeks to support women entrepreneurs and contribute to economic development.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, representatives of the Department of Finance highly appreciated the University of Southampton’s selection of Thai Nguyen as a case-study locality. This was described as a valuable opportunity for both sides to share knowledge and experience, thereby proposing appropriate financial, training, and digital transformation policies that help build leadership capacity and foster innovative entrepreneurial spirit among women. The province committed to creating favorable conditions to ensure the effective implementation of the project.
