At the meeting, Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong provided an overview of the province’s development space and socio-economic situation following the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces. At present, the provincial road network has basically been formed, with interlinked connections across road hierarchies and a total length of approximately 13,883 kilometers. However, rural and mountainous transport infrastructure remains limited, with some routes lacking synchronized investment, of low quality, and not meeting the requirements for socio-economic development and disaster prevention and control.

To meet development demands in the new period and to promote its role as a regional connectivity hub after the merger, Thai Nguyen proposed that the Ministry of Construction pay greater attention to investing in and completing the transport infrastructure system.

During the working session, leaders of the Ministry of Construction and its subordinate units discussed and clarified difficulties and obstacles in project implementation responsibly and effectively, to support Thai Nguyen in removing bottlenecks and achieving set targets at an early date.

Minister Tran Hong Minh requested agencies under the Ministry of Construction to fully take on board the local authorities’ proposals and to coordinate closely to resolve outstanding issues thoroughly, with the highest sense of responsibility.
