The Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee has issued an emergency construction order for the project to build the Huu Cau dike, spanning from Cao Ngan Bridge to Thac Huong Dam, as part of the flood prevention system for the central area of Thai Nguyen Province.

The project aims to establish the Huu Cau dike to meet flood prevention and drainage requirements, while serving multiple purposes through its integration with a traffic route. It is expected to help complete the province's flood control system in the central area, enable more efficient land use, and promote local socio-economic development. The project is being implemented in accordance with the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh regarding efforts to address the consequences of heavy rain and flooding in Thai Nguyen Province.
The construction will take place in Phan Dinh Phung, Quan Trieu, and Gia Sang wards. The Thai Nguyen Provincial Project Management Board for Transport and Agricultural Construction Investment has been assigned to manage and implement the project. The projected implementation period is from 2025 to 2027. The total investment is estimated at approximately VND 7.61 trillion, to be funded by the central budget, local budget, and other sources.
