Minister of National Defence attends the Great National Solidarity Festival

On the morning of November 16, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defence, attended and celebrated the Great National Solidarity Festival with residents of Dong Residential Group, Linh Son Ward, Thai Nguyen Province.

General Phan Van Giang extends congratulations to all residents of Dong Residential Group.

Located along the Cau River and adjacent to the provincial administrative centre, Dong Residential Group suffered severe flooding caused by the aftermath of Storm 11. Most households were severely affected, with significant property losses and damage to essential infrastructure, rendering daily life extremely difficult. However, thanks to the spirit of solidarity, unity, mutual support, compassion, and with the assistance of local Party committees, authorities, the armed forces, and people nationwide, residents’ lives were quickly restored and stabilised after the floods.

At the festival, General Phan Van Giang and other leaders extended their congratulations to all residents of Dong Residential Group. General Phan Van Giang emphasised that caring for the people's well-being must be regarded as a top priority, and requested that Linh Son Ward continue reviewing and supporting affected households; accelerate efforts to restore infrastructure; study long-term solutions to ensure safety for areas along the Cau River during the rainy and stormy season; and promote the tradition of mutual support and the community’s cultural values.

On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang and the delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence presented meaningful gifts to Dong Residential Group and Linh Son Ward.
