Thai Nguyen invites investment in data center

On the morning of April 9, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a conference to invite and attract investment in a data center. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of relevant departments and sectors attended the conference.

Chairman Nguyen Huy Dung chaired the meeting with department and sector leaders to discuss the attraction of investment for the data center.

In his speech at the conference, Chairman Nguyen Huy Dung emphasized that to create a competitive advantage, Thai Nguyen must establish a data center. If we can, Thai Nguyen would become the second locality in the North to have such a center, after the capital, Hanoi.

The Chairman noted that many investors are currently interested in this field. Some have already surveyed potential land sites for the project and submitted questionnaires to the province. Investors are primarily concerned with market demand; therefore, in addition to offering the highest level of investment incentives for the data center, the province proactively invites banks and major enterprises to use the center's services. The Provincial People's Committee will sign cooperation agreements with banks and large enterprises to utilize the services once Thai Nguyen establishes an international-standard data center.

The Chairman assigned the Department of Science and Technology to take the lead, in coordination with the State Bank of Vietnam – Region 5, in selecting 15 influential banks within the system for the Provincial People's Committee to invite to use the data center's services.
