Thai Nguyen elevates friendship and deepens cooperation with Gyeongsangbuk-do(South Korea)

As part of Thai Nguyen's investment promotion program in South Korea, on the evening of October 6, Mr. Dang Xuan Truong, the Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Mr. Hoang Van Hung, the Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission, along with the provincial delegation, visited and worked with Gyeongsangbuk-do Province (Thai Nguyen's twin province). Ms. Lee Dal Hee, Deputy Governor, and officials and leaders of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province welcomed the delegation.

Deputy Governor Lee Dal Hee warmly welcomed the delegation. He expressed his confidence that the cooperation between the leadership and the people of the two provinces will become more comprehensive in the coming time.

Ms. Lee Dal Hee also provided information to the delegation about the economic-social situation, potential, strengths, and unique cultural characteristics of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. She emphasized that Gyeongsangbuk-do Province has 42 universities and is eager to enhance cooperation with Thai Nguyen in education and training. Currently, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province is providing full scholarships to seven students from Thai Nguyen, and in the future, they hope to welcome more Thai Nguyen students.

Vice Chairman Dang Xuan Truong expressed profound gratitude to the leadership of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province for their warm and thoughtful reception. He recalled the strong bond between the two provinces over the past 18 years since they first signed a friendship cooperation agreement in 2005. To date, the cooperative relationship between the two provinces has achieved many significant accomplishments in various fields.

Thai Nguyen has three district-level localities that have signed cooperation agreements with three localities in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. Five secondary and high schools in the province have friendly cooperation with secondary schools and high schools in Gyeongsangbuk-do. Thai Nguyen University of Education also closely cooperates with Daegu University of Education.

The two provinces have also effectively collaborated in rural development. Gyeongsangbuk-do Province has supported Thai Nguyen in building a new rural model based on the successful Saemaul New Village model applied in South Korea. This model has changed the residents' perceptions, enabling them to boldly transform crop and livestock structures, resulting in economic efficiency, environmental cleanliness, and the establishment of a new cultural life in rural areas.

Vice Chairman Dang Xuan Truong also happily shared information with the leadership of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province about the economic and social development achievements that Thai Nguyen has made in recent years. He expressed confidence that with their long-lasting friendship, tradition, and active support from both governments, Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk-do will continue to promote their friendship and investment cooperation in a more solid, effective direction.
The delegation also took the time to visit the practical model of the new rural village in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, as well as the ancient temple of the Ly family, originally from Vietnam and built in the 16th century.
