To promote sustainable development for traditional craft villages within the province, Thai Nguyen has allocated nearly 3 billion VND to implement supportive policies during 2018-2023.
A training program for tea craft village's households was organized by the Provincial Craft Village Association in August 2023. |
Specifically, these policies encompass support for constructing village gates and organizing recognition ceremonies for 53 craft villages, including traditional craft villages. Additionally, assistance has been provided for machinery, processing equipment, label and packaging production, trademark registration, and trade promotion for these villages. Furthermore, training sessions, workshops, conferences, and seminars have been organized to enhance the skills of rural laborers in traditional craftsmanship and foster its development.
As a result, the province currently boasts 88 craft villages and 184 traditional craft villages, primarily engaged in processing and preserving agriculture, forestry, and aquatic products, as well as manufacturing wooden and bamboo products. Moreover, they are involved in breeding and trading ornamental animals. These craft villages and traditional craft villages consistently employ over 42,000 laborers, with an average monthly income ranging from 4.5 to 5 million VND per person.
From now until 2025, the province will continue implementing supportive programs for craft villages and traditional craft villages, aiming to recognize 12 new craft villages. The province also strives to effectively operate more than 70 percent of craft villages and traditional craft villages, with at least 50 percent of them having products rated as OCOP (One Commune, One Product).
