ASIAD 19: Thai Nguyen Jujitsu athlete contributes medal to Vietnamese sports delegate

The 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19) was held in Hangzhou City (China) from September 23 to October 8. Joining the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, Thai Nguyen has 5 athletes, including 2 rowing athletes and 3 Jujitsu athletes.

Phung Thi Hue - a female Jujitsu athlete from Thai Nguyen, competed excellently in the 48kg category, winning 1 bronze medal, contributing to bringing the Vietnam Sports Delegation to 20th place out of 36 delegations participating ASIAD 19.

At age 30, with 14 years of active participation in competitions, Phung Thi Hue has achieved over 50 medals and numerous other awards in domestic and international tournaments, including over 30 Gold Medals.

During the 31st SEA Games in 2022, Phung Thi Hue earned the nickname "Steel Woman" from fans when she secured the first Gold Medal for the Vietnamese Jujitsu team at the SEA Games.

At ASIAD 19, Phung Thi Hue's Silver Medal significantly contributed to Vietnam's Jujitsu medal target. Alongside Phung Thi Hue, Thai Nguyen had two female Jujitsu athletes competing at ASIAD 19, Dang Thi Huyen (52kg category) and Hoang Thi Nhat Que (63kg category).
