Thai Nguyen Province has 9 universities, 13 colleges, 8 vocational schools, and 30 vocational training centers. Every year, the province trains thousands of students with qualifications and skills in various fields, including information technology, electronics, foreign languages, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, and more. Especially students from ethnic minority groups make up a significant proportion (over 30 percent) of the total student population.

Currently, education and training are the main cooperation between two sides. During the period of 2016-2020, with the support of the Australian Government through the human resource development cooperation program between Australia and Vietnam, Thai Nguyen University has achieved significant results in successfully implementing various cooperation programs and projects with Australian partners, as well as sending lecturers and students for study and academic exchanges in Australia.
