Phu Thuong youth actively develop economy

With the spirit of enthusiasm, not afraid of difficulties, implementing the motto "Wherever there is need, young people are present, wherever there are difficulties, there are young people", in the past time, union members and youth of Phu Thuong commune (Vo Nhai district) have enthusiastically participated in the movement of economic development, volunteering for the local community.

Mr. Le Quy Bien, Secretary of Phu Thuong Commune Youth Union, said: "The entire commune currently has 150 union members living in 15 union branches. Recently, the movement "Accompanying young people to start a business" has created a widespread effect; about 80 percent of union members and young people are developing the local economy. Since then, many typical and highly effective models have appeared..."

We visited Mr. Hoang Manh Tuan's clean vegetable growing model in Na Khao hamlet. With the dynamism and consensus of his family and the help of the government and commune-level unions, Mr. Tuan boldly invested in developing the family economy with the organic vegetable growing model, which initially became successful.

Mr. Tuan shared: "My model was built in the beginning of 2022, with a capital of 500 million VND. I invested in a 1,500m2 net house system to grow vegetables and tubers using organic methods such as Bell peppers, chocolate tomatoes, kale, spinach, Swiss chard... Vegetables are grown without using chemical fertilizers, without using growth stimulants and without using herbicides. Last year's total output was estimated at 4.8 tons of vegetables, with an average income of 240 million VND per year."

To help union members develop the economy, the Commune Union has actively deployed preferential policies from the State, especially capital, to support youth startups through the Bank of Social Policies. To date, the Commune Union manages outstanding debt of 5.7 billion VND, savings balance of 264 million VND, with a total of 128 borrowers. The commune union also coordinates to organize training courses on plant care techniques, job orientation, and support for disadvantaged Youth Union members.

Taking advantage of the benefits of social networks, the Commune Youth Union regularly posts propaganda articles, inspires, cheers and encourages young people to do business, confidently start a business, confidently do well in tasks, and improve their qualifications. Besides promoting economic development, the youth of Phu Thuong commune also enthusiastically responded and organized activities with many practical jobs such as repaying gratitude, taking care of poor households and lonely older people, and helping union members and young people in difficult circumstances...

During the year, the unit has carried out many meaningful youth projects such as the children's amusement area in Cao Lam hamlet, the youth flower garden in the relic area where the first Party cell of Vo Nhai district was established, route to Mo Ga hamlet community tourist site...

With specific and practical actions in emulating economic development and volunteering for the community, Phu Thuong Commune Youth Union members have affirmed their youth and bravery in all fields. In particular, the Youth movement emulating economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction has brought practical results, contributing significantly to the local socio-economic development.
