On June 20, on behalf of the leaders of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Mr. Khamkhan Chanthavisouk, Central Committee Member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary and Governor of Luang Prabang province, presented State Medals and Badges of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to collectives and individuals of Thai Nguyen Province in recognition of their achievements and contributions to enhancing the friendly relationship, special solidarity and cooperation between Thai Nguyen and Luang Prabang provinces.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, the Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Alternate Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial PCI Steering Committee; Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council worked with the delegation. Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, departments and agencies, and leaders of districts and cities also attended the working session.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai, emphasized that Thai Nguyen and Luang Prabang have established a friendly relationship based on the good relationship between Vietnam and Laos since 2010. Over the past 13 years, the relationship and cooperation activities between the two provinces have deepened, particularly in education.

In five recent years, 1,200-1,700 Lao students have lived and studied in 11 schools in the province. After completing their training programs, they returned to work and contributed to the Party, the state, and the Lao ethnic groups in general, and Luang Prabang province in particular. In 2018, Thai Nguyen supported Luang Prabang in constructing a two-story school with ten classrooms worth 7 billion VND and providing respiratory machines and COVID-19 prevention equipment worth 1.5 billion VND.

These achievements have contributed to consolidating, preserving, and developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, Thai Nguyen and Luang Prabang provinces in particular.

Mr. Khamkhan Chanthavisouk discussed some cooperative contents between the two provinces. During the visit and work in Thai Nguyen province, he expressed gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception of the province.

Mr. Khamkhan Chanthavisouk congratulated Thai Nguyen province on its rapid economic development and political stability. At the same time, he expressed Luang Prabang province's appreciation for the care and assistance provided by the Party, government, and people of Thai Nguyen province, especially in the field of education and human resource development.

During the working session, the leaders of the two provinces expressed their desire for Thai Nguyen and Luang Prabang to continue promoting and strengthening comprehensive exchange and cooperation more practically and effectively, reaching new heights in new areas such as tourism and digital transformation. They also discussed the organization of high-level delegations to visit and work in both provinces regularly and the development of specific cooperation programs in each field. These efforts will contribute to further deepening and enhancing the relationship between the two provinces and the two countries of Vietnam and Laos practically and effectively.

 

During the working program, on behalf of the collective entities and individuals who received medals and badges, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, expressed joy and sincere gratitude to the Party, State, and Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic for their attention, recognition, and awarding of prestigious medals and badges to the collectives and individuals of Thai Nguyen province. She affirmed that the Party Committee, government, and people of Thai Nguyen will continue to preserve, nurture, and promote the tradition and good relationship between the two sides.

In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation from Luang Prabang province paid tribute at the National Historical Relic Site dedicated to Fallen Youth Volunteers of Company 915, Unit 91 Bac Thai in Gia Sang Ward, Thai Nguyen city, and visited the Danko City urban area in Chua Hang Ward, Thai Nguyen City.
