Indian Embassy in Vietnam interests in investment opportunities in Thai Nguyen

On May 24, a working delegation from the Indian Embassy in Vietnam led by Mr. Subhash Prasad Gupta, Deputy Ambassador and Head of the delegation, along with other members, held a working session with Thai Nguyen Province to discuss potential joint ventures in commerce and culture between India and Thai Nguyen Province. Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives from the departments and sectors.

The delegation exchanged views with Thai Nguyen Province on cooperation opportunities in the fields of commerce and culture.

During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh provided an overview of the political, economic, cultural, and social situation of the province, as well as the cooperation between India and Thai Nguyen. He mentioned that in 2023, the total export turnover to India from the province reached 313.5 million USD, while the import value from India to Thai Nguyen reached 35.6 million USD. Additionally, over the years, both sides have implemented numerous cultural exchange activities, contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship and cooperation.

Addressing the program, the Deputy Ambassador affirmed the longstanding traditional friendship between Vietnam and India since the 1950s, expressing the desire for Thai Nguyen Province to pay attention to the Indian Government's scholarship program for Vietnam. Furthermore, he mentioned that many Indian investors are currently exploring economic and trade sectors in Vietnam. 

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed his desire to receive attention from the Indian Embassy in Vietnam in connecting and promoting investment cooperation between the two sides.
