In the investment promotion program in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands, on the afternoon of April 17 (local time), Mr. Pham Hoang Son, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, led by the Thai Nguyen provincial working delegation, met with the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany. At the beginning of the working session, Mr. Pham Hoang Son briefed the Ambassador on the economic development results of Thai Nguyen. In 2023, Thai Nguyen's import-export turnover to the German market reached nearly 1 billion USD, of which exports accounted for over 800 million USD. The main export-import items include phones, tablets, textile products, components, electronic equipment for phone production, raw materials for solar panel production, textile materials...

The trade turnover between the province and German enterprises is promising, but it has not yet matched the potential. Mr. Pham Hoang Son hopes that the Ambassador and the Embassy will continue to act as a bridge, supporting Thai Nguyen in enhancing cooperation with German localities and enterprises, mainly German enterprises interested in exploring investment opportunities in Thai Nguyen.

Ambassador Vu Quang Minh proposed that Thai Nguyen invite investment in sectors such as heavy industry, energy, chips, and semiconductors - the strengths of German enterprises. He suggested the province establish twinning relationships with a German locality to enhance diplomatic exchanges and economic development.
