On the morning of September 17, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Thai Nguyen province (Thai Nguyen Union), in collaboration with Mani Hanoi Limited Company, organized an exchange program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023).
Mr. Vu Duy Hoang, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Union of Friendly Organizations of Thai Nguyen Province and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the program.

Recognizing the significance of foreign affairs, Thai Nguyen has consistently excelled in three key aspects: Party diplomacy, state diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy. The province has initiated cooperative relationships with several Japanese localities, such as Ibaraki Province, Nogata City, and Fukuoka Province.

Japan's official development assistance (ODA) is a major support for Thai Nguyen. Japanese enterprises and investors are interested in various projects within the province. Currently, Thai Nguyen has 6 Japanese foreign direct investment (FDI) companies with a total committed investment capital of nearly 70 million USD. Mani Hanoi holds the top capital, amounting to over 43 million USD. From 2009 to the present, the Japanese government has sponsored ODA programs and projects in Thai Nguyen with a total capital of nearly 150 billion VND.
The Thai Nguyen Union has recently tried to establish the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association. The campaign team to establish the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Thai Nguyen targets to hold the founding congress later this year.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Vu Duy Hoang emphasized that the program aims to strengthen and develop the excellent relations between Vietnam and Japan, contributing to the development of both nations and promoting integration and socio-economic development at the local level. Furthermore, it aims to enhance the image, status, and role of Vietnam in general and Thai Nguyen Province in particular and to enhance people-to-people diplomacy and cultural promotion between the two countries.
The program featured various cultural exchange activities, including traditional Ao dai and Kimono fashion shows and Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine introduction. All carried out in a joyful and vibrant atmosphere. |
