On the afternoon of June 26, at Pho Yen city, leaders of Pho Yen city and Chilgok-gun district, Gyeongsangbuk-do province, the Republic of Korea (RoK) signed a memorandum of cooperation. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, attended the signing ceremony.

Through the memorandum of understanding, the two sides will establish friendly relation in many fields (trade, culture, tourism, science, education, agriculture, labor...).
Two localities will co-organize events, conferences, workshops and other activities to strengthen the friendly cooperation, contribute to attracting investment capital, and support Viet nam enterprises in particular and Pho Yen entrepreneurs in general to access the global supply chain.

The signing ceremony is a meaningful activity to expand exchanges and long-term cooperation between the two localities, strengthening the established friendly relations, promoting and developing economic-culture-tourism.

Previously (in 2005), Thai Nguyen province and Gyeongsangbuk-do province signed a friendship cooperation agreement for the first time. In 2019, the two provinces signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation on respect, equality and mutual benefit.
