More than 16 years of cooperation with IFAD through Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects in the former Bac Kan Province have made significant contributions to poverty reduction and brought about positive changes to the agricultural and rural landscape.
The Phase 3 project has been basically designed in line with Thai Nguyen Province’s orientation toward agricultural development based on the green economy and circular economy; green rural areas and ecological agriculture; and the development of the forest carbon credit market. The project’s total estimated investment is over USD 38.6 million, equivalent to VND 971 billion.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the support of the IFAD Vietnam Office in connecting and assisting Thai Nguyen in accessing international aid resources.
He affirmed the province’s commitment to effectively utilizing IFAD’s funding and other forms of support, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout project implementation, and creating the most favorable conditions for IFAD projects to be successfully carried out, delivering tangible benefits to local people and contributing to the province’s socio-economic development.
