Thai Nguyen: 3,233 young people depart for military service in 2026

On the morning of March 4, in line with nationwide events, Thai Nguyen Province held the 2026 Military Handover and Receiving Ceremony at eight locations across the province.

Local residents see off the new recruits as they leave for military service.

This year, Thai Nguyen was assigned a target of 3,233 recruits by the Government, including 2,700 citizens enlisting in the Vietnam People’s Army (an increase of 100 compared to 2025) and 533 citizens performing service in the People’s Public Security force (528 men and 5 women), up 30 from the previous year.

According to the plan, 2,175 citizens were assigned to nine units under Military Region 1, and 525 citizens were assigned to six units under the Ministry of National Defence.

To ensure that recruitment was conducted in a strict and regulation-compliant manner, local authorities reviewed 54,106 male citizens aged between 18 and 27 and established 17 regional Military Service Medical Examination Councils.

With thorough preparations, the 2026 Military Handover and Receiving Ceremony in Thai Nguyen Province was held in a solemn and safe manner, demonstrating determination to fulfill 100% of the assigned recruitment target.
