Recently, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, chaired a meeting with the communes of Phu Binh, Diem Thuy, Tan Thanh, Kha Son and Tan Khanh.

Overview of the meeting.

The five communes, located in the southern part of the province and formerly belonging to Phu Binh District, benefit from convenient transport infrastructure, with industry, trade and services developing steadily.

They have relatively large populations and an abundant workforce, while urban infrastructure is receiving increasing investment, with many major projects already underway. However, following the recent administrative merger, these communes now cover large areas with dense populations and heavy workloads.

At the same time, staffing remains insufficient, the capacity of local officials is uneven, and transport infrastructure in some areas has yet to be upgraded in a synchronized manner.

At the meeting, local authorities proposed additional resources to invest in infrastructure and urban development to ensure that Phu Binh, Diem Thuy, Tan Thanh, and Kha Son communes meet the roadmap to become wards by 2030.

They also requested the province to soon direct and accelerate the formulation of a master urban plan for the southern communes, prioritize investment in upgrading key transport routes to support socio-economic development, and assist Tan Khanh commune in achieving new-style rural standards for the 2026–2030 period.

Acknowledging these proposals, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the provincial People’s Committee, and relevant departments further clarified several issues and highlighted the potential advantages of the five southern communes, aiming to better leverage and promote them to serve long-term socio-economic development goals.
