12 Shan Tuyet tea trees recognized as “Vietnam Heritage Trees”

On the morning of December 12, the Dong Phuc Commune People’s Committee, in coordination with the Northern Mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute, held a ceremony to announce and receive the Certificate recognizing the “Vietnam Heritage Trees – Bang Phuc Shan Tuyet Tea Trees".

The commune currently has more than 316 hectares of Shan Tuyet tea, including 740 ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees distributed across all 7 hamlets. Scientific surveys indicate that the Shan Tuyet tea population in the Bang Phuc area of Dong Phuc Commune holds outstanding value in terms of biology, formation history, and potential for economic and tourism development.

On December 8, 2025, the Vietnam Association for the Conservation of Nature and Environment issued Decision No. 298/QD-HMTg, officially recognizing the cluster of 12 Shan Tuyet tea trees in Dong Phuc Commune as Vietnam Heritage Trees.

As part of the ceremony, representatives of local authorities, residents, cooperatives, and enterprises signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the distribution of Shan Tuyet tea products.
